Welcome to Guiding Hand Counselling

We offer adult and young people’s counselling, aged between 9 to 80 years + within Durham City, in addition to providing online and telephone counselling.

Guiding Hand Counselling is led by Sarah Foster BA (Hons) (MBACP) who is registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and Counselling Children and Young People (CCYP). This means that you can be assured that the service you receive is delivered by a qualified counsellor who adheres and works within strict ethical codes of practice. Sarah has been practicing as a counsellor since 2009.

Over the years Sarah has developed a particular interest in working with people who are struggling with relationship problems and associated anxiety, stress and life crises. Relationship problems can be either with, a partner, friend, family member or work college or relationships in general. She’s passionate about helping people improve their relationships and change the way people relate to each other, to become more emotionally open and attuned to each other.  Ultimately, she has found that problems experienced (anxiety, stress, panic, depression) seem to lesson once people start having better relationships, not just with their partner but with friends and family
